Does Psychic Healing Work?

Q:  Can a psychic heal or cure a disease or fix a health problem?  How can I tell if a psychic healer or spiritual “miracle” worker is genuine?  – Alan

A:  Hi Alan – our best answer when it comes to spiritual healing modalities is this:  1 – Keep an open mind about the powerful connection between your mind and your body (and someone ELSE’s mind and your body 🙂 but DON’T let your brains fall out.  I am a huge believer in the idea that our bodies have an incredible, and innate ability to heal and self regulate and repair.  Things that were considered “woo woo” science just a few decades ago, are now being accepted as obvious truth by mainstream science.  (things like self directed neuroplasticity for example, or the idea that you can literally change your brain, through the power of thoughts, as has now been studied and documented by far too many mindfulness meditation studies to count)

It’s obviously not a big leap of faith (or fact) to also believe that you can change your body, through the same power of thought alone.  And if that’s true, having another persons thoughts ALSO affecting your body in positive (or even potentially negative) ways is also not such a hard notion to take on board.

There have been many studies done of “distance” healing modalities that are super exciting and inspiring in areas of energy and “psychic” healing – Dr. William Bengston’s work comes immediately to mind, as does the work of John of God, and similar well known healers.  That said, there are probably 100 fake or fraudulent claims about psychic healing for every 1 genuine article out there, and it’s important to do your due diligence with any claim that sounds too good to be true….ESPECIALLY if your health challenge is a significant one.
