Some interesting research into the beliefs of US citizens with respect to the afterlife – with about 70% or so of us believing in some sort of life after death, and about 50% (a little bit less, actually – but close) reporting having had some sort of ADC (after death communication experience) most often, through hyper realistic dreams.

Around 46% of Americans have felt the presence of a deceased family member in a dream, often experiencing a comforting or reassuring encounter. These dream visitations can range from vivid conversations to a simple feeling of their loved one’s presence.
Meanwhile, 31% of Americans report encounters outside of dreams, sensing their deceased loved one’s presence in their waking lives, sometimes through a familiar scent, a fleeting touch, or an unexplained sound.
Interestingly, these experiences aren’t evenly distributed across religious groups. Catholics (66%) and members of the historically Black Protestant tradition (67%) are particularly prone to reporting such visitations, while evangelical Protestants (42%) are less likely to share similar experiences.
