Clairvoyance derives from the French words “clair” and “voyance” (clear vision) to reflect the ability of seeing clearly, or piercing the veil of illusion to see true reality.
Clairvoyance is the most common or popular type of “psychic” ability and the word most often associated with the gift. Also note. Many meditation teachers in the Buddhist and Eastern traditions refer to what are called “Siddhi’s” or supernatural abilities, and these are very similar to the psychic “claire’s” and also thought to arise from polishing the mirror of consciousness – and seeing clearly – beyond the illusion of ordinary reality.
