What is psychic addiction anyway?

Honestly?  It depends on who you ask.  Many people consult with spiritual advisors and psychic intuitives on a regular basis to make important life choices.  This includes famous people, celebrities, politicians and even royalty and presidents alike.  But some people become so dependent on having other people help them make these choices, that they become unable to help themselves without it.  And when this happens…..the shift is made from seeking psychic, or spiritual guidance, to instead….using this information and insight as a crutch.

But this is ALSO true…..

Enjoying regular psychic sessions and guidance doesn’t mean you have a problem.  On the contrary….I personally enjoy seeking out the advice of my most trusted intuitive advisors on a regular basis, and feel like my life is much improved by having them available.  But I’m able to make important decisions on my own…and see psychic input and advice as IMPORTANT, but not the only factor or consideration when choosing what to do with my life, or a particular set of circumstances.

If you feel like you are becoming “hooked” on psychic advice?

Try to back away.  Start to rely on your OWN internal intuition to make some choices, and measure how well (or poorly!) you do.  Mediate on what you want to accomplish in life, and understand that you have a purpose, plan and a true reason for being here.  A psychic can certainly help illuminate that for you and help you find it FAR faster, but in the end, self reliance is key!  (both spiritually…and practically, for day to day life as well!)

Free Psychic Advice – WARNING! 2 Critical Reasons Why You Should ALWAYS Pay for Psychic Readings

I never get “free” psychic readings.

Want to know why?  I’ve never had a good experience with them!  After almost 20 years of psychic readings, research and writing both personally and professionally alike, it always astounds me how many people are interested in free readings…and then expect them to be good!  It’s tantamount to having a crisis with your car, and searching the yellow pages for FREE auto mechanics..:-)  

With this in mind, and after a rich reservoir of experiences with all sorts of psychics, here are the 2 MOST important reasons why I recommend my readers don’t search for free psychics, and instead…..wait until they can spend a few bucks before they begin to search for psychics.

Reason #1?

Most FREE psychics aren’t really free.  It’s more or less a marketing manipulation to get you to call.  Why would they do this?  Because once on the phone, many people are vulnerable to being SOLD on more expensive services, memberships and even monthly continuity programs.  I don’t find this to be ethical….and I simply don’t TRUST the services that employ these style tactics as well.  In this respect….”free” can often turn into a cash commitment you did NOT want to make, but feel pressured to pay because you aren’t good at saying NO!  (most of us aren’t)

Reason #2?

I’ve simply NEVER gotten a free reading that was any good.  The only exception to this rule is from friends who are professional readers, but that doesn’t apply to most of the people who are reading this.  (as most of you haven’t been writing about psychic readings as long as I have!)  But when it comes to calling a new service as a customer or client myself, I’ve found the “free” offers out there to be generally canned, scripted and sort of silly.  Have there been a few exceptions to this over the years?

Yes, there are one or two services that DO offer a genuine free reading before they’ll ask you to pay…..but compared to the hundreds of networks who DON’T, as a rule, I recommend you save your money and wait until you can AFFORD a small reading first.  (remember…..you CAN get a great reading for 15 or 20 dollars, which is a SMALL price to pay for a legitimate psychic or service)

How Psychic Are You? 3 Ways to Tell if You’re Psychic (& Not Plain CRAZY!)

How psychic are you?

Do you feel special, sensitive or simply MORE “aware” than most?  Do you have inexplicable things happen that simply can’t be explained by ordinary or conventional logic?  Do you feel different……or even occasionally sense things happening WAY before they actually do?

If any of the above sounds familiar, you may be FAR more psychic than you want to believe.  The truth?  Much like artistic ability, musical talent or even athletic skill, psychic sensitive is a latent “talent” that many people possess…and only through exploring and being OPEN to your true nature will you discover you who REALLY are.  (and meant to become)

Want some easy ways to tell if you are psychic?  There are a bunch!  But the truth is, if you are reading this far right now, my gut already tells me you have a hunch you are special……and you probably already know what I’m about to tell you is true.

You sense who is on the phone BEFORE you pick it up. You think of someone IMMEDIATELY before you get a text or email.  (often someone you haven’t heard from in a while)  You wonder aloud how someone is doing……and then you see them out and about that very day.  All of this is called precognition, and it’s a pretty common sign of psychic ability for sure.  (and FAR less rare than many people believe)

You are SPIRITUALLY sensitive. Or as was made famous in the movie “The 6th Sense”….you SEE dead people. Or you hear them.  Or you simply are aware they are out there.  The truth?  Many mediums got their start by sensing spirits around them as children.  I know MANY people who regularly have contact, communication and interaction with people who have crossed over to the other side.  They sometimes see them.  Other times they simply “hear” them.  (and often telepathically…..or through an “inner voice”)

Do you have recurring dreams, or visitations from deceased relatives that SEEM hyper real?  (as in NOT a dream at all?)  This happening repeatedly is often a sign of psychic sensitivity, and one that you should NOT ignore at any cost.  (as it’s a special gift you should WANT to develop)

Lastly……if OTHER psychics, mediums, clairvoyants or intuitives TELL you they feel an aura of psychic sensitivity around you, it’s a great sign you’ve got similar gifts.  Much like a great artist inherently recognizes another…..or a great athlete can “tell” another is equally as talented on the court or on the field, so TOO can psychics sense the same in others.

If you call, see or even TOUCH another sensitive in a certain way….they are often the very FIRST to recognize you’ve got the very same skills….and will often be your greatest ally in helping you develop them further.  (or pointing you on the proper path that helped THEM grow as well)

Did you know that there are many scientific studies about psychic mediums who speak to the deceased? There are….and right now, as I write this, many legitimate centers for SERIOUS scientific inquiry are experimenting with mediums in all sorts of cool ways. The Windbridge Institute, for example….studies and tests telephone mediums using cutting edge scientific protocols. (including many famous ones you’ve heard of) The University of Arizona studied mediums for quite a while as well……with the HBO documentary the “Afterlife Experiments” being made out of the sensational results of severalseveral of the these studies. (impossible to explain away!)

So too have places like the Rhine Institute at Duke University, the University of Virginias division of Personality Studies, and other serious (and SUPER smart!) settings for the study of what happens to us when we die. My favorite telephone medium says it’s like speaking to someone through a heavy glass window…..you can see and hear them, but it often takes listening very carefully to truly understand the messages they are trying to convey.

Most mediums have the conversations TELEPATHICALLY, or from mind to mind. (they don’t necessarily hear the voices the way most of us are accustomed to speaking) Famous medium John Edward, says it’s like having a conversation at the bottom of a pool…..underwater!

You can hear and see, but again….like the glass window or door analogy above, everything is fuzzy, difficult to understand at times, and often….requires patience and a bit of intuition to translate EXACTLY the signs that are being sent from the other side.

What YOU need to know is this…….

You need to have your own experiences to truly understand. No one can convince you that psychic mediums are real…until you have a conversation with one that you simply can’t explain otherwise. When you start hearing from, or getting messages from long lost loved one’s that they are “okay”…..and that they are still with you, it’s an amazing, life changing and gratitude giving experience that NO skeptic or cynic can tell you isn’t true. (because I used to be one myself!)

That’s truly what happened to me…..as a fluke psychic reading almost 20 years ago convinced me beyond a shadow of a doubt that my loved ones lived on after “death”…..and that I COULD communicate with them, through a genuine medium who had skills that I simply did not. Genuine Psychic Readings – 3 Simple Rules for Getting a Real Reading You Can Trust

In this article we are going to take a quick and insightful look at how to procure a genuine psychic reading.

Why? Because for many of you, the biggest source of psychic procrastination is the insecurity that comes with trying to find a psychic service, or intuitive that you can really trust.

And if you’ve had that queasy feeling of trying to hire a psychic, only to feel somewhat uncomfortable with how trustworthy (or honest) they may be, the simple fact is that you are NOT alone! One of the biggest problems people face when getting a reading is dealing with that nagging fear or concern over how legitimate the psychic is going to be, and in my experience, more than anything else…..this makes people procrastinate or put off having an experience that really CAN change your life.

The fact is, the easiest way to tell a psychic is genuine, is to actually have the reading itself! Nothing can be as good "proof" as getting first hand experience and the sort of validation that can only come jumping in, mixing it up a bit and seeing for yourself. I liken it to the notion of meeting your soul mate..:-)

Everyone you date is not going to be the person you marry, but if you analyze every person ad infinitum before you even go on a date, before you know it, life has passed you by and you’ll miss lots of opportunities to have fun, learn a bit and play the field. This has been my experience with psychic readings as well, and in close to 20 years of interest, I can honestly say that I’ve had my share of amazing readings, as well as quite a few "duds", too!

With that in mind, and recognizing that it’s an imperfect science, let’s look at 3 simple things I personally look for in a reader, that re-assure me they’re legitimate….both BEFORE and during the actual reading as well!

Less is More – A reader who asks for all sorts of information BEFORE the reading begins is a bad sign. Why? Because there are lots of "cold reading" techniques that can be gleaned from relatively simple questions that may appear harmless. Your age – for example, can often "tell" a lot about why you may want to see a medium. A woman who is in her middle years is FAR more likely to have recently lost a husband, whereas a young couple is much more likely to have lost a child. (and another reason why we actually PREFER phone readings as less information "leakage" is possible)

Embrace the Magic (and the Mystery) of the Unknown!

A good psychic will embrace the magic, and the mystery! A BAD psychic (or dishonest one) will often have ALL the answers, be a "know it all" and have NO room for interpretation or mistake. The best psychic readings I’ve ever had, and the most accurate, have always been with readers who recognize that information can be interpreted! A psychic who is so stubborn as to believe they are NEVER wrong….usually is, more often than they admit. (and worth avoiding as well!)

Avoid the Up sell –

Quite simply, you should NEVER see a psychic who has a whole suite of other services to sell you..:-) A good network will concentrate on offering you an outstanding reading, and won’t be concerned about trying to bundle other services you don’t need, or aren’t legitimate to offer.

For example? Curses, spells, candle lighting ceremonies and other rituals are the hallmark of shady operations and inauthentic psychics and should be taken as a sign of trouble! If these topics come up (and they shouldn’t) I recommend going in the other direction, or hanging up the phone in a hurry!

The Bottom Line is this…..

Most psychics I’ve come across are good, empathetic, caring and compassionate people with special skills and great gifts! But there are "grifters" out there as well…and keeping the above in mind is a great way of making sure you avoid them – or getting them out of your hair in a hurry if you do see any of the signs above!
